Job Title: Load Planner & Lead Dispatcher
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Load Planner &
Lead Dispatcher to run the day-to-day operations of our aggregate truck hauling
fleet. This is a leadership position that combines strategic load planning,
dispatching, driver management, safety compliance, and close coordination with
sales, plants, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Load Planning & Dispatching
• Build and optimize daily load plans and driver
schedules to maximize asset utilization and on-time delivery
• Work directly with customers to book deliveries
• Cover or back up ticket window as needed
Fleet & Maintenance Coordination
• Partner with Maintenance Manager to prioritize
repairs, schedule PMs, and minimize downtime
• Track daily driver vehicle inspection reports
(DVIRs) and repair requests
Driver Management & Safety
• Lead safety training, driver meetings, and
toolbox talks
• Enforce PPE, company policies and DOT
regulations
• Handle driver coaching, disciplinary action, and
conflict resolution
• Recruit and retain qualified drivers as needed
Reporting & Administration
• Track, execute, and own the Trucking
Department’s annual goals and operating plan
• Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly performance
reports to senior leadership
• Assist with end-of-day closeout (credit card,
cash, COD reconciliation) when needed
• Maintain accurate records for driver files and
compliance
Other
• Step in and perform any other duties assigned by
the Aggregate Business Manager, VP, or company officers
Qualifications & Requirements
• Minimum 5+ years of trucking dispatch, load
planning, or fleet management experience (aggregate/hauling experience strongly
preferred)
• Proven leadership skills – able to lead,
motivate, and hold a team of drivers accountable
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations,
Hours-of-Service, ELDs, and driver safety/compliance
• Proficient with trucking software, Excel, and
general office programs
• Experience or working knowledge of aggregate
materials and end-dump / dump trailer operations
• Outstanding customer service and communication
skills (phone, email, and in-person)
• Ability to work early mornings, split shifts if
needed, and remain on-call for urgent issues
